UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – There’s no place like Beaver Stadium on a Saturday. This weekend, the Nittany Lions are set to host No. 2 Indiana at West Shore Home Field at Beaver Stadium for one of the most anticipated matchups of the season. Kickoff is set for noon on FOX, with the legendary Gus Johnson, Joel Klatt, and Jenny Taft calling the action.
And this isn’t just any game—it’s Military Appreciation Day and the annual Helmet Stripe Game, presented by the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. Expect emotion, energy, and the full force of Penn State pride on display.
🎖 Honoring Our Heroes: Military Appreciation Tailgate
Before the roar of Beaver Stadium, Penn State will host its Military Appreciation Tailgate inside the Bryce Jordan Center starting at 9 a.m.
All servicemembers and their families are invited to enjoy free food, live entertainment, and community fellowship. Just bring proof of service at the entrance (Gate A or B).
🏟 The Helmet Stripe Tradition Returns
The Helmet Stripe Game is one of the most iconic sights in college football.
Here’s the plan:
- Fans in EE, WE, EEU, and W209: wear blue
- Everyone else: white out!
Together, we’ll recreate the timeless look of the Penn State helmet—bold, united, and unforgettable.
🔔 Game Day Timeline
- Parking lots open: 7 a.m.
- Block Party on Curtin Road: 8 a.m. (music by Pour Decisions + Cubs Corner for families!)
- Team Arrival Pep Rally: 9:45 a.m. — cheer the team as they arrive with the Blue Band, cheerleaders, Lionettes, and the Nittany Lion.
- Student gates open: 9:30 a.m.
- Public gates open: 10 a.m.
- Pregame show: 11:40 a.m. (don’t miss the Blue Band and Penn State traditions video!)
- Kickoff: Noon
🍻 Bud Light Backyard Beer Garden – Gate F
Doors open at 9 a.m. for the best pregame hangout in Happy Valley. Enjoy:
- Lawn games & live football broadcasts
- A premium double-decker sports bar

- Postgame access for one hour after the final whistle
