Marvel Entertainment and Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) are launching a new chapter of Marvel Make Me A Hero—a digital series that transforms everyday champions into Marvel‑style Super Heroes. This season honors a powerful group of real‑world figures: veterans, caregivers, and the supporters who stand beside them.
First introduced in 2018, Marvel Make Me A Hero invites fans to collaborate with Marvel artists to design original Super Heroes inspired by their own lives. Its acclaimed 2021 edition, Real Heroes, earned a Webby Award for spotlighting essential workers during the COVID‑19 pandemic, including nurses, EMS volunteers, teachers, postal workers, and even service animals.
A Partnership Built on Service and Storytelling
WWP—founded in 2003 to support post‑9/11 wounded veterans—has invested over $1.7 billion into life‑changing programs for warriors, families, and caregivers. These include:
- Warriors to Work — career counseling and job placement
- Warrior Care Network — clinical treatment for PTSD, TBI, and related conditions
- Project Odyssey — mental health and resilience training
These programs address both the visible and invisible wounds of war, helping veterans rebuild confidence, community, and long‑term stability.
Through this collaboration, Marvel artists will create original Super Hero portraits inspired by selected veterans and caregivers—celebrating their resilience, leadership, and impact in their communities.
A New Season Begins
The first episode of the new Marvel Make Me A Hero season premieres August 6, 2021, across Marvel’s digital platforms, including Marvel.com and Marvel’s official YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram channels.
